キプロスってどんな国？ / What is Cyprus?
キプロス（Cyprus）は地中海東部に位置するヨーロッパ連合（EU）加盟の島国。面積は日本の四国の約半分ほどで、人口は約120万人。ギリシャ語とトルコ語が公用語で、南部はギリシャ系キプロス人、北部はトルコ系キプロス人が居住するという複雑な歴史を持ちます。
古代から交易の要衝として栄え、エジプト、ギリシャ、ローマ、十字軍、オスマン帝国、そしてイギリス植民地と、数々の文明に支配されてきた歴史大国。通貨はユーロ（€）で、夏は40℃近くになることもある温暖な地中海性気候です。観光業が盛んで、ヨーロッパ人に大人気のバカンス地としても知られています。
Cyprus is an EU island nation in the eastern Mediterranean, roughly half the size of Shikoku, Japan. With a population of about 1.2 million, it has a complex history shaped by Greek and Turkish influences. It uses the Euro (€) and enjoys a warm Mediterranean climate.
空港から市街地へ / Getting from the Airport to the City Center
今回はライアンエアーではなくWizz air! しかも人が少なかったのかめちゃいい席に移動させてくれましたラッキーです☺️
ラルナカ国際空港（Larnaca International Airport / LCA）に到着したら、まずは市街地へのアクセス。タクシーは便利ですが高め。そこで使ったのが路線バス！小さめのメルセデス製バスが空港前に到着します！

路線：429番バス（Larnaka Station方面）
料金：€2.40（現金のみ / Cash only）
お釣りの心配不要：運転手さんがちゃんとお釣りを用意してくれます！
所要時間：約30〜40分

The 471 bus runs from Larnaca Airport to the city center. Fare is €2.40 cash. The driver has change ready, so no need to worry about exact fare. Journey takes approximately 30–40 minutes. Bus stop is directly in front of the arrivals exit.
いざラルナカ城へ！/ Larnaka Medieval Castle
市街地の海沿いに佇むラルナカ城。「城」と聞いて壮大なものを想像すると少し拍子抜けするかも…正直に言うと「小さな砦」という感じ。でもそれがまたいい！コンパクトながら中世の雰囲気がしっかり残っていて、大砲や火器のコレクション、14〜15世紀の陶器展示など見どころ満載です。屋上からの眺めも最高。
⚠️ トイレ注意 / Toilet Warning
ラルナカ城内にトイレあり（使用可）。ただし、キプロスに限らず地中海・東ヨーロッパ全般で「トイレットペーパーを流せない」場所が多いです！必ず横のゴミ箱へ。知らずに流すとトラブルの原因になるので要注意！
Note: Many toilets across Cyprus (and the wider Mediterranean region) do not allow paper to be flushed. Please dispose of toilet paper in the bin provided.

聖ラザロ教会へ！/ Saint Lazarus Church
城の近くにある聖ラザロ教会（Church of Saint Lazarus）。ラルナカの名所の一つで、イエス・キリストによって蘇らせられたとされるラザロが晩年を過ごし、この地で司教として活動したと伝えられています。外観は落ち着いた石造りでとても美しく、内部も荘厳な雰囲気が漂っています。（ごめんなさい写真を撮り忘れました）
小さな教会ですが、歴史の重みと静かな空気感がたまらなくよかった。観光客も多すぎず、ゆったり見学できます。

Saint Lazarus Church is one of Larnaca’s most significant landmarks. According to tradition, Lazarus — raised from the dead by Jesus — spent his later years here as bishop. The church is small but beautiful, both inside and out, with a calm and spiritual atmosphere.
こんなところでも抹茶を頼む笑 / Starbucks Break in Cyprus
観光で歩き回ってお腹も減ってきたところで…スターバックス発見！キプロスにもちゃんとあります笑。しかもかなりおしゃれな内装。地中海まで来て注文したのはアイス抹茶ラテ。どこにいっても抹茶を頼んでしまうのが癖。でも美味しかったから正義！ちょっとひと息つくのに最高の場所でした。
Even all the way in Cyprus, I couldn’t resist ordering a matcha latte at Starbucks 😄 The interior was stylish and it was a great spot to rest after a long day of sightseeing. Totally worth it!
今晩のお宿はここ！Le Mat Hostel 宿泊レビュー / Accommodation Review
1日目の宿はラルナカの旧市街にある「Le Mat Hostel」。緑の重厚なドアが目印のおしゃれな外観で、一見するとホステルとは思えないほど。歴史ある建物をリノベーションした雰囲気抜群の宿です。

Le Mat Hostel is a charming renovated historic building in Larnaca’s old town. Great common spaces including a beautiful courtyard terrace. At around €60 for 2 nights (~¥10,000), it’s excellent value for budget travelers. The shared bathrooms could use some improvement, but overall a great choice for the price.
キプロス1日目まとめ / Day 1 Summary
ブリュッセルからはるばるキプロス・ラルナカへ。1日目は城、教会、スタバ、そして格安ホステルと、ひとり旅らしい自由な1日でした！移動費も観光費も激安で、本当にコスパ最高な旅先です。
